Experiences

The main element of any of our experiences is single-origin honey. Just as for coffee or wine, the sensory profile of honey is shaped by climate, soil, ecosystem and human hands. But the most important factor is which plants were the source of the nectar for that honey - what we call botanical origin.

There are hundreds of honey varieties around the world - and the diversity between is incredible. From light acacia honey, resembling vanilla scented sugar syrup, to eucalyptus honey with notes of salted smoked caramel. from sunflower honey reminiscent of tomato paste to the incredibly bitter strawberry tree honey.

As soon as you start tasting you realise the word 'sweet' is not going to be enough.

During a tasting we try different honey varieties and listen to stories. But it's not just about one or the other. It's about experiencing with our senses, not just absorbing facts.

Each tasting is custom created for a theme, occasion, idea and location:

  • Honey varieties selected, food pairings created, scenario, format, duration - all can be adapted.

  • IT company office, a private party at a homestead, yoga retreat, an art gallery - these are just a few contexts in which I've created.

The main elements remain the same in each tasting:

  • honey is the star of the show here - not just a side

  • handmade beeswax tableware brings us even closer to the hive

  • all are equally important: flavours, context, story and aesthetics

  • focus on local seasonal ingredients as well as wild plants

Groups are always welcome at our family apiary in Plinkšės called Užpelkių medus, (Mažeikiai district). Here you can immerse yourselve into Lithuania's nature and get to know our rich meadows, unique wetlands and forests - perfect for forest bathing. We can also arrange a more hands on experience with the bees - allowing you to get even closer to the world of honey. If coming from abroad we can also help arrange a full day (or several days worth) trip in the are.

An experience like this expands beyond the confines of a table. It allows you to immerse yourself fully into the world of bees and honey.

Post-tasting impressions

Like travelling through lands I had never seen before, yet somehow already knew.

It stirred so many memories and emotions that tears of happiness simply came. I felt deeply grateful to have experienced even a small part of that world.

Rasa immersed us in a rich narrative, seamlessly weaving together anthropological, mythological, ecological, and even political threads.

I've tasted my way through plenty of experiences, yet it's been a long time since something surprised me quite this much.

Companies should be including your workshops in their employee benefits packages.

There were people at the table crying.

Beat that!

It touched me deeply and absolutely blew my mind

Honey tasting is the new black.
